Job Title: Specialist Support Navigator
Reports to: Community Outreach Services Manager
Salary: £24,012 pa
Contract: FTC 12 months from 1st July 2021 – 30th June 2022
Place of Work: Bognor Hub – Arun
Hours: Flexible – not fixed to Monday-Friday – core hours to be agreed – 37hrs a week
The Arun RSI4 Specialist Support Navigator is an exciting new role funded by the Ministry for Housing and Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) Rough Sleeper Initiative, in partnership with Arun District Council. The role has been created specifically to support Non-UK Nationals in the Arun area who have found themselves in challenging circumstances due to the impact of BREXIT and COVID-19 who do not currently have settled or pre-settled status. Or those who have status but have unmet multiple needs which can often cause difficulties when trying to engage with services. A growing number of clients needing to access services in the Arun area have been identified as being Non-UK nationals (NUKN) who not only have support needs but are subject to immigration law and are often vulnerable and targeted for exploitation.
Within this role, you will be working as a Specialist Support Navigator, working within the good practice of Trauma Informed Care principles, and as part of the Rough Sleeper Initiative team. You will need to be excited and motivated to learn about different cultures, and ideally have a second language – or want to learn key phases and words of client’s languages to better build relationships with the NUKN clients.
You will be supporting the most excluded clients where traditional service delivery has failed to engage and meet their needs, due to language/cultural barriers. Therefore, it is essential that you have a non-judgmental and enabling approach to supporting homeless and vulnerable adults and be willing to learn knowledge of health, housing and work issues facing NUKN clients who have multiple complex needs, and are facing deportation.

33 days holiday per year, pro-rata based on work pattern
