Careers and Employability

This is an exciting (part-time) opportunity for a qualified and experienced professional to join our Career and Employability Service at the University of Chichester.

As a Careers and Employability Consultant, you will provide professional and impartial career information, advice, education and guidance to undergraduates, postgraduates, graduates and prospective students to enhance the employability prospects of these groups. This will include delivering face to face and online career development activities and developing external relationships with employers to maximise student and graduate opportunities. You will be working closely with key colleagues across the University to contribute to the development and implementation of the student employability strategy and raising its awareness across the student and staff community.

This is a 360-degree role that includes delivering all aspects of career guidance work. In particular:

providing relevant career-related information, advice and guidance to students and graduates; collaborating with academics on module development and teaching to further embed student employability and career development/readiness into the curriculum; facilitating workshops; building positive external relationships with employers and other opportunity providers; working effectively and efficiently with colleagues in the Team to maximise students’ opportunities.

This post requires a strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills, a proactive approach to work, and the ability to be innovative and creative when problem-solving. Digital literacy is essential, along with a good understanding of the local labour market.
