Risk & Compliance Officer 
Reporting to the Risk & Compliance Manager, the Risk & Compliance Officer supports the day-to-day delivery of compliance, risk, information security, data protection, supplier assurance, business continuity and health and safety activities. Through the coordination of audits, compliance monitoring, assurance, risk and certification activities, the role helps ensure the business remains compliant, audit-ready and able to meet its regulatory, contractual and certification obligations. 

Key Responsibilities 

Compliance, Assurance & Audit Support 

  • Coordinate compliance monitoring activities, internal reviews, audits and assurance programmes across the business. 
  • Coordinate corrective action tracking and follow-up activities arising from audits, incidents and compliance reviews. 
  • Complete client due diligence requests, tenders, assurance questionnaires and evidence gathering activities, ensuring submissions are accurate and delivered within agreed timescales. 
  • Support the Risk & Compliance Manager in preparing for external audits, certification reviews, client assessments and regulatory inspections.  

Information Security, Data Protection & Digital Identity 

  • Support information security activities, including security training, awareness communications, access reviews, policy compliance monitoring, evidence collection and certification activities. 
  • Support data protection activities, including RoPAs, DPIAs, privacy risk assessments and incident records. 
  • Support digital identity compliance and certification activities, including evidence maintenance, documentation updates and compliance monitoring.  

Supplier Assurance & Third-Party Risk 

  • Support supplier onboarding, due diligence, assurance assessments and ongoing monitoring activities. 
  • Maintain supplier records, assurance evidence and corrective actions, ensuring third-party compliance obligations are effectively managed. 
  • Support supplier risk reviews, contract compliance monitoring and periodic reassessments. 

Business Continuity & Incident Management 

  • Coordinate business continuity activities, testing schedules, incident logs, breach records and corrective action tracking, ensuring documentation remains complete and audit ready. 
  • Support incident management and follow-up activities, ensuring actions are documented, tracked and progressed to completion.  

Risk & Issue Management 

  • Maintain risk registers, issue logs and non-conformance records, ensuring information remains accurate, up-to-date and escalated where appropriate. 
  • Support risk assessment activities and the tracking of risk treatment actions.  

Policy, Training & Documentation 

  • Support the review, maintenance and communication of policies, procedures and compliance documentation. 
  • Coordinate policy awareness activities, training records and evidence collection. 
  • Promote the use of the company's Source platform as the single source of truth for policies, procedures and compliance records.  

Health & Safety, Facilities & Fleet 

  • Maintain records of health and safety inspections, training, risk assessments and incident reporting activities. 
  • Support scheduled compliance checks, including DSE, COSHH, fire safety and security-related activities. 
  • Support facilities administration, office coordination and fleet management activities. 

Collaboration & Culture 

  • Promote a culture of compliance, information security, risk awareness and continual improvement across the organisation. 
  • Build effective working relationships across departments and support the delivery of team objectives. 

Supporting the operational execution of ESG initiatives 

  • Support the delivery and reporting of ESG commitments, including EcoVadis, FuturePlus and B-Corp.

Experience - Essential 

  • Experience in a compliance, audit, governance, risk or information security role. 
  • Familiarity with management systems and assurance frameworks, such as ISO 27001, ISO 27701, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. 
  • Experience supporting audits, compliance reviews, due diligence or assurance activities.  
  • Experience maintaining records, evidence, registers and documentation to a high standard.  
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint. 

Experience - Desirable 

  • Experience supporting data protection or business continuity activities. 
  • Experience supporting supplier due diligence, third-party assurance or risk management activities. 
  • Experience working within regulated, audited or certification-based environments. 

Desirable Qualifications 

  • ISO Internal Auditor qualification. 
  • NEBOSH or IOSH certification. 
  • IAPP CIPP/E or another data protection qualification. 
  • Business continuity, risk management or information security qualification. 
  • Cyber Essentials Assessor, ISO 27001 or similar information security training.

Package:

  • Starting salary £37,000
  • Hours (36.15) Monday-Friday between 9am-5pm
