At Sussex Ice Cream Co (our sister company) we make award-winning ice cream & sorbet handcrafted by chefs. Our recipes have earned 14 gold stars at the Great Taste Awards since 2015.
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant to join our ice cream production team. You will support the preparation, mixing, and handling of ingredients to create high-quality ice cream products while maintaining strict hygiene and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing ingredients for production
- Support the Chef in developing and producing ice cream flavours and recipes
- Operate kitchen equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and storage areas
- Follow food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management
- Help with packaging and labelling of finished products
Requirements
- Previous kitchen or food production experience preferred (not essential)
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organisation skills
- Team player with good communication skills
- Willingness to learn and take direction
Desirable Skills
- Experience working with desserts or frozen products
- Passion for ice cream and food creativity
- Understanding of ingredient handling and storage
