We are a busy and respected UK-based broadcast and film equipment rental company, supplying gear to a wide range of television productions — from reality shows to live events. We're looking for an enthusiastic, hands-on individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Equipment Assistant.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in the television and broadcast industry, with the chance to gain first-hand experience and learn from our experienced technical team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist engineers with preparing, cleaning and labelling equipment to professional standards.
- Help maintain a clean, well-organised and efficient workshop.
- Support with cable management and equipment tidying tasks.
- Carry out ad hoc deliveries of equipment to client locations (company vehicle provided).
- Occasionally assist on-site engineers with rigging and de-rigging equipment on production locations.
- Perform basic IT-related tasks and support as needed.
Essential Requirements
- Strong understanding of IT Software (ie you must be confident configuring complex software)
- Confidence talking around technical equipment (ie RAM, Disc space, Drivers etc)
- Good level of physical fitness — comfortable lifting, carrying and moving equipment.
- Reliable, organised, and proactive with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to do some out of hours work in order to get a job completed or if a client need us (eg working into the evening or on a weekend sometimes)
- Full UK manual driving licence - must be clean and held for at least 5 years due to a restriction on our insurance policy.
- Valid passport and ability to travel at short notice (including occasional overnight stays).
Desirable Attributes
- To be able to travel to our office (probably by car) as we are in a rural location and unfortunately the public transport links are not strong. Please see our location here https://maps.app.goo.gl/vVtsgxoBsR3zLdbK9
- An interest in film, television, or live production
- A basic understanding of computer networking and /or some familiarity with video editing software (neither are essential but they are relevant to our day to day work)
- Previous hands-on or technical experience (e.g. backstage, AV setup, or tech support) – not essential but a bonus; what is most important is being open to learning our way of doing things.
- Willingness to learn and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
What We Offer
- Full training and development from industry professionals.
- A friendly and supportive working environment.
- Opportunities for career growth and progression into technical or engineering roles.
- Occasional opportunities to work on live sets and real production locations.
- A genuine step into the broadcast and television industry.
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and levels of experience.
If you're practical, motivated, and excited by the idea of working in a technical role behind the scenes in television, we want to hear from you.
