Connect on a Thursday evening socials - Creative Spaces

For Aldingbourne Trust

We are currently trying to relaunch the Thursday Evening Socials for the Connect clients in Bognor Regis. The Socials are already well established on alternative Saturdays, and we feel the people we support would hugely benefit from having an activity available in the evening.

The socials will be held at Creative Spaces (73-74 Aldwick Road) and will take place every other Thursday from 6.00-9.00pm. We are currently seeking volunteers who would be interested in helping deliver the socials.

The socials aim to provide the people we support with a space to socialise, take part in activities and to help to build confidence and personal development.

Skills

Activities include : cooking, baking, quizzes, board games and puzzle nights, bingo, karaoke, dancing and a range of other creative activities. The aim is to deliver activities that are requested and where possible led by the people we support, so may vary depending on demand.

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who would be able to help to deliver the socials from 6-9 with activities and spare a little time before and after to assist with set up and pack down. Size of group will vary (max 20 people).

About Aldingbourne Trust

The Aldingbourne Trust is dedicated to helping local businesses, communities and people with learning disabilities to reach their potential and enjoy life, together.

We are committed to the support and well-being of people with learning disabilities by developing their skills, helping them gain employment in the local community and encouraging them to lead more fulfilled, independent lives. Many of the people we support also have physical disabilities and our expertise ensures their lives are contented and secure.

With our support and consistent attitude towards diversity, equality and inclusion for all, people with learning disabilities can achieve more control over their lives and futures and make informed changes for the better.

Availability required alternative Thursday evenings. 18:00 - 21:00.

If you are interested in offering your time and assistance, please contact Tracy Milward, our Volunteer Coordinator by email or by calling 07879 280715 for an informal discussion or apply online via our website.
