Full Time and Fixed Term to 31 December 2022 subject to funding

We are looking for an enthusiastic Research Assistant to join an existing research team who are delivering commercially funded research projects which aim to enhance physical performance and/or reduce musculoskeletal injuries in physically demanding occupations, currently delivering projects for the UK Armed Forces, emergency services and private sector.

Supported by academics from within the Institute of Sport, Nursing and Allied Health at the University of Chichester and an international network of subject matter experts, the successful applicant will primarily assist in data collection for projects, provide support to field studies, perform data analysis and undertake administrative tasks to support literature reviews and commercial activities.

The successful applicant will have an MSc in applied sport or exercise physiology; have knowledge of applied data collection techniques; and ideally have experience of collecting data in the field. Although you are not required to have experience in working with personnel in physically demanding occupations (although this would be advantageous) you should have a background in sports and exercise physiology or biomechanics.

There will be some travel and overnight stays required (including possibly overseas).

Ideally the successful candidate would be able to commence in role during December 2021 or January 2022.

Informal enquiries are welcomed by Prof Sam Blacker (s.blacker@chi.ac.uk : 01243 793473) or Prof Steve Myers (s.myers@chi.ac.uk : 01243 816232).

Closing Date: Sunday 31 October 2021 (at midnight) Interview Date: TBC
