Forestry & Estate Maintenance Worker
Love working outdoors and taking pride in maintaining beautiful landscapes? Join our Forestry Team and play a hands-on role in caring for the iconic Goodwood Estate.
This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. From managing woodlands and roadside trees to maintaining public rights of way, fencing, tracks and amenity areas, you'll help ensure the Estate remains a place of outstanding natural beauty.
Working across the Estate, you'll operate a range of specialist machinery including tractors, chainsaws, telehandlers and PTO equipment, support woodland management and tree planting projects.
You'll be joining an experienced and close-knit team that takes real pride in preserving and enhancing the Estate for colleagues, visitors and future generations.
What you'll be doing
- Maintaining forests, woodlands, roadside trees and amenity areas across the Estate
- Operating tractors, chainsaws, telehandlers and PTO equipment
- Supporting tree planting and woodland management projects
- Maintaining public rights of way, tracks, fences, walls and other estate infrastructure
- Loading and unloading timber, aggregates and other materials
- Assisting with grounds and landscape maintenance activities
- Undertaking a variety of seasonal and ad hoc estate maintenance tasks
What you'll bring
- Prior experience operating tractors, telehandlers and PTO equipment
- Chainsaw qualification
- Experience maintaining machinery and equipment
- Knowledge of trees, forestry or tree planting
- A practical approach and confidence working outdoors in all weather conditions
- A logical and methodical approach to problem solving
- A full UK driving licence
- An interest in forestry, countryside management or the natural environment is desirable
