Casual Mechanic
We’re looking for a Casual Mechanic to join our team at the Motor Circuit. This is a truly unique opportunity to work with a fleet of classic 1950s and 60s Saloons and GTs, including Jaguar, BMW, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, MG, Ford and Austin, as well as a large collection of Series 2a Land Rovers used for customer experience days.
You’ll be responsible for maintaining, safety checking and preparing all circuit vehicles to ensure they’re ready for a fun and safe day on the Goodwood Racetrack. You’ll carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance, log accurate vehicle records, and support stock control.

What you’ll do:
- Inspect and assess vehicles to identify wear and tear
- Diagnose and resolve faults on cars
- Carry out routine maintenance and repair, including MOT preparation
- Restore, repair and replace components
- Tune engines for optimum performance
- Fit up restoration cars
- Work on electrical and mechanical systems
- Support other Technicians in the workshop
- Record work carried out and parts used clearly and accurately
- Assess vehicles for future improvements
- Rebuild engines and gearboxes (desirable but not essential)
- Follow up on corrective actions and implement countermeasures to reduce fault recurrence
What you’ll bring:

- High standards of housekeeping
- Ability to work efficiently and reliably to the highest quality standards
- Minimum Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance & Repair NVQ or equivalent
- At least 5 years’ experience working with classic cars
- Full UK driving licence
